Painting pictures by numbers
Painting by numbers is a new and a very unusual type of modern art. The paintings are created by coloring the pre-marked and numbered zones. The number determines the color of paint that goes into that area. The Numbered Paintings artwork kits were created in 1951 by Max Klein, the owner of Palmer Paint Co, and artist Dan Robbins. The place of origin was Detroit, Michigan. The creators of this type of art combined the noble goal and the successful business idea. On the one hand, everybody could now create a masterpiece. The person does not need talent, skills, experience or education. You were just supposed to follow the instructions. On the other hand, Palmer Paint Co had been facing serious financial problems, at the time. They needed to create a new product that would become a bestseller. After several months of hard work, Dan Robbins decided to unify the idea of coloring for children and the principles of Leonardo Da Vinci methods of teaching. Da Vinci used to paint canvases with contours and numbers, after which his students filled them in with appropriate colors.
