In the airborne troops paratrooper started to wear berets in 1967. Initially the beret was maroon, because at that time the maroon beret was an attribute of the Airborne Forces worldwide. But in 1968 the color was changed from maroon to blue, as they considered that the color of the sky is more suitable for the Airborne Troops.
