Gorgeous black & gold designs adorn this unique work of folk art. Nesting dolls are a Slavic tradition that dates back centuries! Traditionally, they were made for kids to play with - to learn how to count, stack, learn colors and counting. The dolls were usually made from natural linden wood, polished and hand painted using vibrant, primary colors. This black, blue & gold nesting doll is elaborately decorated with a design known as "Gzhel" - something very traditional to the Slavic art culture.
