Bouquet Zhostovo Hand-painted Tray

A famous Russian folk art, Zhostovo tray making dates back to the early 1800's Russia, where the raft was first born. Zhostovo trays are known for their lavish, lacquered black backgrounds and floral designs, which take years to master! The trade of Zhostovo was born in 1825, in a small private workshop where the trays were made from papier-mâché. It was only in 1830 that a metal base was used in their making.
