The basis for decorating the items of the Gothic tea service was the historical series of "Gothic" dessert plates made in 1831 at the Imperial Porcelain Factory in addition to the Cottage Palace's own service, as well as the "Gothic" service created at the enterprise in 1832 by order Hoffmarshal's part for the Winter Palace. The stained glass window - "rose", a characteristic element of Gothic churches, has become the main motive for the decor of ancient samples and, accordingly, the modern set of service ensemble.
