Christ the Savior Decorative Plate

Dulevo porcelain decorative plates feature a variety of forms and rich decorations. One of the most popular among them is the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. This cathedral was built in the nineteenth century as a monument to the courage of the Russian people in the struggle against Napoleon's invasion of 1812. Coronations, national holidays, and anniversaries were traditionally celebrated in the cathedral. This magnificent temple was destroyed by the Bolsheviks in 1931 and rebuilt after the collapse of the Soviet Union, using surviving drawings. Standing on the bank of the river, it is once again one of the greatest symbols of Moscow.
