This book shows the masterpieces of the famous jeweler of the Russian Imperial Court Peter Carl Fabergé (1846–1920).
The collections of Peter Carl Fabergé are represented in twenty museums of Russian Federation (Moscow Kremlin, Ermitage, Faberge Meuseum in Saint Peterburg, etc.). These eggs were elaborate, miniature works of art, often incorporating gold, enamel, and gemstones. Many contained a “surprise”—tiny mechanical devices, miniature portraits, or intricate figurines hidden inside.
