Scottish Terrier Figurine. Symbol of 2018

This wonderfully-unique and elegant figurine is made by the Imperial Porcelain Factory, and is usually imported in very limited quantities. The very first figurines to be made at the Imperial Porcelain Factory were created in the mid-eighteenth century by Dimitriy Vinogradov, the father of Russian porcelain. He fashioned a porcelain bear, and to this day figurines are still made according to his original technique - hand-made out of soft-paste or hard-paste porcelain. Almost all of them are painted by hand in under-glaze or over-glaze. There is a wide variety of animal figurines such as cats, dogs and horses, as well as exotic representations of African and Arctic wildlife.
