The Kiss was painted by Gustav Klimt, a renowned Austrian artist, in 1908. The painting depicts a couple in love, standing on a rock, on an edge of a flowering meadow, completely engulfed by the golden aura of their feelings toward each other. The master artist, reproducing the painting on this delicate lacquer box was able to scrupulously showcase every minute detail of Klimt's painting on the comparatively tiny scale, creating a true collector's item, extremely rare even for a Russian lacquer box, and astonishingly beautiful in the genuinely special and super limited edition essence of the box.
Only 50 of these lacquer boxes were ever produced.
