William Morris was a British textile designer, poet, artist, and writer. He contributed greatly to the revival of traditional British textile arts and production methods.
The design is inspired by the tapestries "Lady and the Unicorn" (French: La Dame à la licorne) is the modern name given to a series of six tapestries woven in Flanders from wool and silk around 1515 in Paris. The Lady and the Unicorn is often considered one of the greatest works of medieval art in Europe.
