Lubok is a famous Russian type of folk art that consists of simple printed images, usually derived from religious and folk tales. These primitivistic designs, printed on wooden boards, were very popular in the XVI-XVII century Russia and today, Russian lubok art is accepted as not only an important part of Russian heritage, but also as the world's heritage art movement. The authors of this Russian Imperial Porcelain Lubok set were awarded golden medals at the World Exhibition in Brussels in 1958. “Russian Soul” items are exhibited in the collections of The State Hermitage Museum, The Russian Museum, the International ceramics center in Faenza (Italy) and many other large treasure-houses of art.
