Morning in a Pine Forest Tapestry

Morning in a Pine Forest is a famous painting by two Russian artists, Ivan Shishkin and Konstantin Savitskiy. Savitskiy painted the bears, while Shishkin did everything else on the painting, but both artists signed their work. However, Pavel Tretyakov, an art collector, whose collection became the backbone of the modern Tretyakov Gallery, erased Savitskiy's signature when he acquired the painting. That is why today, we know this painting as having only one author, Ivan Shishkin.
