Mosfilm Posters

This album is an illustrated edition which demonstrates the best commercial posters for Mosfilm Studio's 1924-1989 full length movies. The album includes posters for 161 different movies created by outstanding directors and people considered to be at the forefront of soviet and world cinematography. The authors of the posters are renowned artists such as A. Belsky, M. Dlugach, the brothers Stenberg, N. Khomov, S. Datskevich, B. Zelensky, Y. Tsarev, V. Ostrovsky, M. Lukyanov, V. Karakashev, and Y. Bokser. The posters are supplied with brief filmographies and sample shots from the movies used to create them. The introductory article addresses the peculiarities of soviet movie poster stylistics. Published in Russian and English.
