The official jeweler to the Russian Imperial Court Peter Carl Fabergé (1846–1920) had often been called the the singer of elegant dreams, for his unrivaled and inimitable style. This egg presents a beautiful harmony of luxury and tradition. The original Pine Cone egg was created for a wealthy Russian industrialist, Alexander Kelch, who presented it to his wife Varvara as an Easter gift in 1900. This original egg is currently held in a private collection in San Diego, California.
