Pine Cone Egg Musical Box in Red

In 1882 Carl Fabergé took over his father’s very ordinary jewellery business and after became the official jeweler to the Russian Imperial Court. The most famous Carl Fabergé creations were a number of Imperial Easter Eggs. Fabergé eggs symbolize love, rebirth and life. Pine Cone Egg Musical Box in Red is one of the fifty-two Imperial Easter eggs made for the Russian Imperial Familyю The Original Pine Cone Egg was created for Alexander Kelch, the famous Russian Industrialist. He presented it to his wife, Barbara, as an Easter gift, in 1900. Nowadays, the  original egg is located in a private collection, in San Diego, California.
