Soviet political posters of the 20th century were an amazingly unique phenomenon, symbolic of the evolving culture of the world during those days. The golden age of these posters fell on the time stretch between 1918 and 1970, or in other words, from the first anniversary of the Bolshevik October revolution of 1917, to the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Soviet regime. These posters were done strictly under government orders.
