The image depicted on this beautiful Russian Imperial porcelain plate had been reconstructed, based on the old plate, exhibited in a museum. The Sergius Lavra is the largest male monastery in Russia and is located in the center of the town of Sergiev Posad, near Moscow. The monastery was built in 1337 by St. Sergius of Radonezh.
