Walnut-shaped cookies filled with cream is one of favorite kinds of sweets of the Soviet era. This baking mold is perfect for mini cookies. The mold consists of two hinged plates with handles - a plate with 12 walnut shell-shaped molds, and a plate, forming the inside cavity in the cookies, to be later filled with your favorite filling. Experiment with different fillings from dulce de leche and jam to nutella and candied fruit and surprize your family and friends.

Walnut Cookie (“oreshek”) Recipe
Ingredients: 1 egg ½ cup sugar 1½ (6 oz) stick room temperature butter 1 cup mayonnaise 1 teaspoon baking soda 3½ cups flour
Directions: Whisk egg with sugar until pale in color. Combine flour with butter using your hands to make it into crumbs. Mix mayonnaise with baking soda and add it to the flour and butter crumbs. Add the egg and sugar mixture to the mayonnaise & baking soda mix and combine into one mass. Divide the dough into small balls and bake them using the “Oreshnitsa”.
Filling: 1 can dulce de leche crushed or chopped walnuts Combine all ingredients. Fill the cookies with filling and combine to make whole “oreshek” cookies.
