This teacup and saucer are a part of the Zamoskvorechye tea set, which follows the Heraldic shape, developed in the mid-19th century for the Russian Imperial Court. Making this set uniquely-special are the bright flower patterns, done in the ancient Russian style, which may be seen among the decorations of the Palace of Facets of the Moscow Kremlin.
• Pattern « Zamoskvorechye » on "Heraldic" shape
• Material : porcelain
• Decoration : overglaze painting, gilding. Hand-painted.
• Author : Galina Shulyak
• The Heraldic shape was created at the Imperial Porcelain Factory in the middle of the 19th century.
• The artist used some of the traditional Russian Motifs, such as the multicolored floral patterns, found, for example, on the walls of the Palace of Facets in the Moscow Kremlin. The delicate floral bouquets are accented by the golden edging which creates a sensation of lightness, emphasizing the refinement and dignity of the snow-whit fine porcelain.
