To create the distinctive design for this teapot the artist used ancient traditional Russian flower ornaments as inspiration and named it in honor of an old Moscow neighborhood, located near Kremlin on the banks of the Moscow River. That is the region where with time, Russian merchants developed the authentically Russian tea traditions, which included samovars and an abundance of pastries.
• Pattern « Zamoskvorechye » on "Heraldic" shape
• Material : porcelain
• Decoration : overglaze painting, gilding. Hand-painted.
• Author : Galina Shulyak
• The Heraldic shape was created at the Imperial Porcelain Factory in the middle of the 19th century.
• The artist used some of the traditional Russian Motifs, such as the multicolored floral patterns, found, for example, on the walls of the Palace of Facets in the Moscow Kremlin. The delicate floral bouquets are accented by the golden edging which creates a sensation of lightness, emphasizing the refinement and dignity of the snow-whit fine porcelain.
