This is one of the most revered icons in the Orthodox Church. Legend has it that after the great fire in Kazan in 1579 a nine-year girl dreamed of the Mother of God, who asked to dig her icon from the ashes, and in that place which she described the icon was found.
Our Lady of Kazan is honored as the guardian and patroness of the Russian city, Kazan, and of all Russia. On the back there is a symbol of eternal life and paradise the Bloomed Cross. An original religious gift will please a spiritual person.
